April 17, 2004I got a new BOMZ intake and they say to disconnect the Neg of the Battery after install. Any suggestions/warnings? what could happen? It said "at your own risk" or I woulda just did it. T'anx in advance, guys/gals!

What this does is reset the computer to read that more air is coming in. Im not sure why it says "At your own risk" Mine didn't. Mine also said to disconnect the neg cable. I couldn't because of an prior experiement, I have stipped the nut and its almost completely unable to be taken off. I need to conserve it until I can find the correct nut size
April 19, 2004The risk is that a spark with the right coditions could cause the battery to explode!
April 20, 2004Very minor risk, but they have to protect from lawsuits. IF the battery had just been overcharged it can form hydrogen gas which could ignite. It does happen, but rarely. If the car has been sitting, there is minimal risk.
April 28, 2004Thanks guys!,
I dun it! I didn't know what the Elex. would do. Hell, i get more gas than the battery (possiblt the whole car!) I was worried that I'd be led down the path and my wife's got the paddle. Anyway, thanks for the info. Stuff works Gud.
May 2, 2004I live in New Mexico and lots of dust & dirt! I have a K&N filter that replaced the stock one. I have had no problem even with the 3" inlet grommet with a 4" inlet tube covering the fender well hole.
As to which air filter is best, I can only tell you what I have learned from the air temp test done on the Airaid and my air box mod. The Airaid is a good one. As to performance a dyno test would be nice.
