November 23, 2005I've got the airaid intake, screamin demon coil, denso plugs and wires, as well as a "turbo" muffler. I'm thinking about getting the AFX 55mm Throttle Body from howell automotive. Has anyone tried this yet?
November 23, 2005I know the larger TB helps the PT turbo and SRT-4 but not sure about a n/a PT. Keep an eye on the Screamin Demon coil. They have been known to melt on the PT and SRT-4. The factory coil is more than adequate. Both high horsepower PT turbo's and SRT-4's are running with the factory coil and it works well. SD coil offers nothing for performance. Could have saved you some money for other mods.
July 17, 2006i was looken into getting the demon coil...so would you recommend staying with the factory one...and getting different plugs or just leave everything as is?
July 17, 2006Don't waste your money on the SD coil. I was running the OEM coil on my modified '03 GT (280+ hp) and I'm still using the OEM coil on my 300+ hp SRT-4 which has the same turboed engine as the GT. Got SRT-4 folks using the OEM coil and putting down over 500 hp at the wheels. Can you say "Holy Moly Batman!"?
July 17, 2006haha well i must say everybody that i hear from that has the gt is maken me jealous...i just have an 01 touring ed with the 2.4.
July 17, 2006Leave the coil alone, but do buy either Magnecore or Crane wires. The stock wires are crap - they started to go before 20,000 miles on my '05 PT, I got about 25,000 before they acted up on my '02 PT. I went with Crane wires (RaceAndStreet.Com) on both and never had another problem.
