Uh.. no haggle, I just have the pipe section (gave somebody else the filter & used the adapter section & clamps)

Cool look, but for performance aluminum really collects the heat, which in turn heats your air coming in.

I hear what your saying, but look at it this way. The open air filter and 12 inch long aluminum pipe draws in probably twice the amount of air as the OEM filter (sounds great while doing it also), so we are experiencing a better airflow into the engine. Granted, it might pick up some heat on the way in, but I'm sure it's offset by the increased amount of air passing thru.
I particularly noticed an increase in throttle response and no lag going all the way up through first gear from a standing start after adding the short intake and open filter element.
