April 25, 2006Oh man, I just found out that my cold air intake that I ordered a week ago won't be shipped now for another week.....sniff sniff......they said they were in stock on the website...someone goofed....
April 25, 2006Does anyone know if you can get these things locally..like at a parts store or something??
April 25, 2006That sucks I hate computer glitches. Samething with my tire i wanted for my wheels they said they had 4 but we went to look and they actually had 3 so they had to order another.
April 25, 2006Bluebruizer,
What can you do??? They already got my money..sure didn't take them long to take that..ahaha
April 25, 2006I hear ya they take the GREEN but then make you wait to get them. IT IS THE HURRY UP AND WAIT IDEA. The military loves this idea.
FYI: They have to replace my wheels now cuz some newbie at discount tire scatched the crap out of them.
So i will get new wheels again in about a week. But they let me keep the old, new ones till they get the new, new ones.
April 25, 2006Bluebruizer,
That's good that they took the responsibility on it..... I did get the blow off valve and want to put that in..but I'm trying to get my car buddy to help..he knows a bit more about cars and such..I"m liable to screw something up and have the thing blow up or something..... I don't want to be a Tim the toolman if you know what I mean....
April 25, 2006I know what you mean.
April 25, 2006Unless that "cold air intake" completely blocks off hot engine air you will gain 2-3 hp and lose around 19 lbs/ft of torque. Seen it on the dyno. If you don't care for squeezing out all of the performance you can and want something that looks cool and racey then use the intake. If you are into performance then a K&N drop in filter, airbox mods and replacing the turbo to airbox pipe is the way to go. I was running 270+ hp on my '03 GT.
April 25, 2006The cold air intake is by K&N... it is made for the PT turbo.....
May 2, 2006Sigh...still waiting on that cold air intake.... didn't realize it would take this long...akkkkk
Anyway, took on a road trip this past weekend...it was fun!! Car ran nicely up and down the hills of Northern AZ......w00t.....
May 2, 2006"The cold air intake is by K&N... it is made for the PT turbo....."
It's not sealed off. It's a hot air intake Just because it's made for the PT turbo doesn't mean it's good for it. Oh well enjoy it. It will look full race and cool even if it costs you power.
May 3, 2006No way to get an intake locally - too many different models to stock.
You'll love the K&N FIPK.
Look into a catch can to keep oil out of intake tract:
Yeah, on a dyno, where you're forced to be stationary, may get some hot air, but when you're moving, you're getting lots of ambient temp air underhood.
