June 6, 2006I installed the cheapy BOMZ intake from Ebay. It was pretty easy, other that having to enlarge the pre-grommeted holes for the sensor and PCV connection. Now my engine light is on. I've heard this happens with after market installs, but I'm not sure of the fix. Seems to me I remember reading about having to install a shunt resistor across the sensor. Any help would be appreciated.

June 6, 2006Never added a shunt resistor on the '01 PT and '03 GT when I believed in intakes and used them. No engine light either. I no longer believe in them since you suck in hot air and lose some torque. A K&N drop in filter works better and keeps the heat out by using the stock airbox. Ever wonder why the stock airbox is enclosed?
June 7, 2006I'm kinda playing with options to see what works better as I reseach. Today after driving about 25 miles, the engine light is off. I've done nothing, so maybe it just had to adjust to more air ? I think my next step is the stock air box mod to increase volume that Me. Tee has. It looks cool and makes sense to me. I'm looking for anything to squeak another few MPGs out of it. $3.00+ is getting hard to *******. :-) Thanks for the reply.
