June 26, 2006Actually I have looked into the KB Optimizer II and so far what I have found out is that it seems to work. Several magazines have done some independant testing on Stock PT's and come away with 17-23 hp gain.
Apprently what it does in go in and adjust the wide range settings of your PT to a much more narrow, car specific, settings. Things like Ignition, Timing, and Shift points.
An example is that PT's ignition is set for a range of 21 to 27 degrees because that is the diffrence range that is allowable from the factory. So the KB Optimizer II goes in and will adjust your computer to your specific ingition degree for better spark.
Since it doesn;t add anything to the engine jsut tweak the settings within the factory specs it should not have any adverse effect on your engine.
