May 10, 2007Any trouble I need to look out for with fitting a set of 18x8 Dodge Magnum wheels on my PT?

May 10, 2007Bolt pattern is not the same...(PT= 5 x 100 Magnum= 5 x 115)so you would have to run wheel adapters..I was considering the same type of thing. Decided not to as it put more strain on the suspension when the wheels are put 1" (or more. Also the magnum wheels are for a rear wheel drive car ( offset +18 & (PT offset aprox +40) so the offset might be really wrong. Combined with wheel adpaters and your wheels might be sticking out of the wheels well too far. Not to mention the tire size will be much bigger than your current tires (tire height) and this will throw off your speedo as well as possibly rubbing if the tires are too tall and or wide. (If your talking about the stock Magnum tires they are 3.5" taller than a PT. Pt= 25" tall & Magnum 28.6" tall).
Just a few of my thoughts. Not trying to be negative but just honest..
oh, one other thing. IF you do go with Wheel adpaters be sure to buy hub centric wheel adapters or all the wieght of your car will be riding on the lugs instead of the center hub and you may get vibration due to the wheels not being perfectly centered...
Just MHO, anyone else???
I checked into all this because I wanted to put some 5 x 114.3 wheels on my car. Got them really cheap, but too much risk, so I sold them...
May 27, 2007Wow! So much for my '05 Dodge to '05 Dodge idea. What happened to each maker having a standard bolt pattern.
