I discovered a pin hole in my drivers side Window tint. Very small and round, reminds me of those things we used to make when we were kids to see a solar eclipse. Anyone know of a way to "fill it in" or otherwise make it less obtrusive?Forums : Appearance : Pin hole in Window tint (3401 Views)

Magic marker or sharpie?Depends on whether you worried about the clear spot, or the defect in the tint surface. Otherwise it's a retint job!

Funny, I was thinking Sharpie as well.July 26, 2007
What causes pinholes?? Did you recently have the windows done?? I went to a place a long time ago to get some windows tinted and I had to take it back because of a little speck of dust or something got in between the glass and the tint and it bubbled out. Sometimes if it's just a bubble of air you can just poke it with a knife, but if it's something behind the tint there's nothing you can do. Was this pinhole caused by maybe a seatbelt hitting the glass?? Just trying to figure out the situation.Later guys, Jeff.

I let my wife use my car...no telling what happened.July 26, 2007
I think the danger is that you don't want anything to get into that hole and get between the tint and glass, and a sharpie won't seal the hole. I'd try black silicone - take a flat toothpick and apply - that ought to seal the hole so if you clean the windows you won't enlarge the hole.July 27, 2007
I'm guessing it was a seatbelt incident. I've done that before, taken off the seatbelt too fast and took a piece off of the tint. I agree, seal it up, after a while it will have the tendancy to bubble out.July 27, 2007
Hmmmm. Good idea. I think I have just what I need in my workshop/storage room too.Thx.
