September 3, 2007Nice work. Suggest you get some wire loom - split plastic tubing you can hide wires in - it'll add some color - auto stores have it - cheap and easy to do.
Tidies up and can add more color at the same time.
September 3, 2007Spudman,
I started out thinking I wanted to have everything chromed. But I saw one of the guys in my club had he engine done in blue and black and some chrome. I decided to add some color under the hood.
As QuickSilverDon pointed out you pick up the wire conduit at any auto parts store and they come in different colors and thickness and can be cut with a razor/utility.
September 4, 2007If your good with the blue paint pen, you can do the outside ribs on each tube of the upper manifold. Trims it out nicely and and adds more color. There's plenty of battery covers on the aftermarket also they you can buy in color or do your own.
September 6, 2007alright, I've made some changes to my Intake.....and I've dressed up the engine a bit more...soo check out my new pic
September 6, 2007Very cool...I see you went with the blue wire conduit!
I have been working on mine, but my kid took the digital camera to school today so no pics just yet.
September 6, 2007Yeah....I wanted to keep to my theme, when i get paid again I intend on buying a stainless steel hose sleeve kit and do all the hoses....the kit i'm looking at also has metalic blue bolt style clamp covers that ought to look good.....also wanted to point out that I made the battery cover from the one that was attached to the old airbox
September 6, 2007Yeah, those hose kits are nice looking, and I did see the OEM battery cover sans the AirBox cover was painted blue...it that metalic blue?
September 6, 2007yeah but the paint was bein sketchy so i used a stiff bristle brush and brushed the semi wet paint ang gave it an interesting texture....the paint itself is acctually two different colors, I used Duplicolor's Metalcast base coat and a blue clearcoat....turned out pretty good i thought
